The Cleveland Browns have some reported interest in New York Giants left tackle Nate Solder but the veteran seems to have no mutual interest

It’s no secret that the Cleveland Browns are trying to improve their offensive line. General manager John Dorsey even said as much when he admitted they were trying to make a trade with the Washington Redskins for their star left tackle Trent Williams.

While Washington has been unwilling to make a deal, the Browns are continuing to do their due diligence. That has them looking at another NFC East team as the name Nate Solder is starting to surface as a trade piece.

As for Solder himself, the veteran left tackle was asked about the potential of being moved and he wasn’t having it. He said he loved being with the Giants and his only focus was on the team’s upcoming game.

"“My emphasis is getting ready for this game,” Solder said via Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post. “There are so many things out of my control. I’ve got a lot of teammates working hard to play well in this game against the Lions, so I’m looking forward to being here, looking forward to Sunday.”"

Of course, Solder didn’t come straight out and say he wouldn’t want to go to Cleveland but his answer makes it sound as though he has no intention of leaving — although he did also say those kinds of things are out of his control.

Solder was the 17th overall pick out of Colorado in 2011. He started his career with the New England Patriots before signing a four-year $62 million contract with the Giants last season.

He hasn’t lived up to his potential, which is why some believe New York would be willing to move on. Even so, he would be an upgrade for Cleveland over Greg Robinson, who could then battle with Chris Hubbard for the right tackle job.

Washington will not trade Trent Williams to Browns. dark. Next

New York and Cleveland are familiar with one another as well. They were involved in two trades this offseason that were basically turned into one. The Browns ended up with Odell Beckham, Jr. and  Olivier Vernon whereas the Giants received Jabrill Peppers, Kevin Zeitler, and draft consideration.
