Coming off of their bye week in Week 7, the Cleveland Browns will be facing off against the New England Patriots in Foxborough. How can the Browns pull the upset against Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and the Pats?

The Cleveland Browns are in trouble. Sitting at 2-4, the Browns have gotten off to a rough start through a difficult first-half schedule. After a heartbreaker of a loss at home against the Seattle Seahawks, quarterback Baker Mayfield and the Browns have had two weeks to think about their loss and attempt to fix their horrendous miscommunications.

Let’s get one thing straight before moving on past the bye week. The referees did not lose the game for Cleveland in Week 6. They certainly did not help, and the officiating this season is an issue that should be talked about, but the Browns dug their own grave against the Seahawks to the tune of three interceptions from Baker Mayfield and questionable time management from Freddie Kitchens.

Moving on, the Browns have the undefeated New England Patriots in their sights. Standing at a convincing 7-0 now, the Patriots have just demolished the New York Jets on Monday Night Football in Week 7 by a score of 33-0. The Patriots have assembled a nearly perfect defense this season, allowing less than seven points per game through about half a season.

The Cleveland Browns have this last bastion of a horrifically hard schedule, before the year lightens up for them. The Patriots are looking to remain perfect. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are legends. Baker Mayfield and Freddie Kitchens are the young upstarts. This is their Week 8 blueprint for taking down the AFC’s best.
