Dud: Eric Kush

The Cleveland Browns teased the idea of making wholesale changes on the offensive line coming out of the bye week, with the most notable change being at left tackle with Justin McCray replacing Greg Robinson. But another spot for a potential change was at right guard.

The Browns teased a change at right guard against the Patriots as Eric Kush and Wyatt Teller split time at the position. Although Kush spent most of the game at right guard, his performance was spotty at best.

Kush has good moments when run blocking, but has been a liability when pass blocking. He struggles to anchor, causing him to get moved into the pocket and causing Baker Mayfield either to scramble or change his arm angle to get the ball around Kush. It was a similar case against the Patriots.

The Browns wanted to give Teller some game reps before the end of the season, and it may be a sign Kush’s time as the starting right guard could be nearing the end. The Cleveland coaching staff has made it clear they want to help the passing game as much as possible, and replacing Eric Kush with Wyatt Teller may be the best move.
