Cleveland Browns: Trent Williams and 3 other trades that would ensure AFC North title
By Leon West
Kiko Alonso, LB — New Orleans Saints
The Browns had a formidable tandem at linebacker to start the season. A tandem that included former pro-bowler Joe Schobert and former league leader in tackles Christian Kirksey.
Kirksey was injured in a Week 2 matchup against the New York Jets. The injury caused the linebacker to be placed on injury reserved.

Cleveland has struggled with their run defense this season and has a glaring hole at linebacker. Rookie fifth-round pick Mack Wilson has filled in admirably in Kirksey’s absence, but his youth has been on display. Wilson has logged 20 tackles in five starts but has missed tackles and blown coverages at times.
Wilson isn’t a problem, but having the ability to put three quality linebackers on the field could plug some of the running holes up that have plagued the Browns so far this season.
The New Orleans Saints traded for Alonso this season after the preseason concluded. But currently, Kiko is sitting in New Orleans playing sparingly and mostly used on special teams.
The price tag for this veteran linebacker should be manageable for the Browns. Kiko tallied at least 114 tackles in each season that he started more than 14 games. Alonso would be a great addition to a depleted linebacking core.
