5. Cleveland Starts Their Push for the Playoffs with this Victory.

This will probably be the most unpopular prediction among non-Browns fans and they have good reason to be skeptical, everything they have seen from Cleveland since they returned in 1999.

There’s one reason that the Browns still have a chance to make the playoffs, scheduling. That includes their schedule and the division leader Baltimore Ravens.

Starting this week, Cleveland only faces two teams with a winning record, the Ravens and the Buffalo Bills. Almost every other team they will face will play a backup quarterback.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are playing with Mason Rudolph, the Miami Dolphins can’t decide between Josh Rosen and Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Cincinnati Bengals announced this week that they will start rookie Ryan Finley.

Baltimore has the opposite of that, they will face several teams that will be in the playoffs. This week they play the Patriots who have looked so good that people are predicting they won’t lose a game all season.

They will face the Houston Texans and Deshaun Watson who has been playing like an MVP this season. They will also play the defending NFC Champion Los Angeles Rams and the undefeated San Francisco 49ers. They will also travel to Buffalo in December to take on a Bills defense that has been among the best in the league.

That schedule is a far cry from what Cleveland will face down the stretch but the Browns need all these wins if they want a chance to catch the Ravens and win the division for the first time since 1989 when it was called AFC central.

I’m not saying they the Browns are going to make the playoffs but they will compete for a spot. But if they can take advantage of this easy schedule they will be right there.
