Dud: Larry Ogunjobi and Sheldon Richardson

The last drive of the game, the Browns need a stop in order to get the ball back with no timeouts. The Broncos lineup in wildcat, and the Browns should know this means run. Instead running back Phillip Lindsey scampers for nine yards, picks up the first down, and seals the game.

Larry Ogunjobi and Sheldon Richardson have been utterly exposed this season, and it was all put on fresh display for the world to see this weekend against the Broncos. Averaging 10 yards per carry, Lindsey gashed the Browns defensive front for 92 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. On the day the defensive front surrendered 127 rushing yards on the day.

In a game that was pretty obviously going to be a run-heavy day, the Browns should have known that a backup quarterback was not going to be asked to throw the football 35 times in this matchup. Richardson is grading out at a 69.0 and Ogunjobi is grading out at a 54.1 according to Pro Football Focus (subscription required), and it is becoming clear why the likes of Gerald McCoy and Mike Daniels were pursued this offseason as well.

In a game that the Browns should have won by 13 points, the defensive front, predominantly Ogunjobi and Richardson, could not stop a leak from their kitchen faucet, let alone on the football field. They’ve been bad all season and got put on blast on Sunday.
