Cleveland Browns: 3-Step blueprint to Week 10 victory over Bills
Make Josh Allen Get Reckless
Josh Allen has always been reckless with the football. Despite his eye-popping physical and athletic gifts, the biggest knock on Allen during the 2018 pre-draft process was just how inaccurate he was with the football.
Allen’s “wow” plays at Wyoming were often evened out by the “what in the world are you doing” plays, and this has carried over into his pro career.
Allen’s seven interceptions this season have shown that while his accuracy has improved, his cannon arm can still misfire quite often. With three interceptions against the Patriots, the Browns have all the game-planning and tape they need to shut down Allen in the secondary. Defensive coordinator Steve Wilks just has to put together the right game plan at the right time.
Josh Allen does things that no other quarterback in the NFL can do. For better or for worse, he also makes plenty of throws that no other quarterback in the NFL should do. The Browns need to take advantage of 50/50 throws from Allen, which is where lengthy, athletic cornerbacks like Greedy Williams come into the equation for Cleveland.
If the Browns can get the Dawg Pound rocking with a couple of turnovers from Allen, they’ve got a good chance in this one.
