Game: Buffalo Bills at Cleveland Browns
Summary: This week the 6-2 Buffalo Bills will come to Cleveland who is trending downwards. The Bills have been a surprise to almost everyone this year, the Browns performance has been a surprise to some and not so much to others.
If you like old school football this is the game for you, both of these teams primarily move the ball by running it. Nick Chubb has been one of the best running backs in the league this year over five yards per carry. He has easily been the best player for Cleveland all season.
The Bills have the third ranked defense overall but they are not as good against the run, ranking 19th. The Browns passing game has been not been effective this year and that will probably continue against a very good Bills secondary.
Buffalo also has one of the most dynamic rushing attacks in the league. They feature Frank Gore who is still somehow averaging four yards per carry. Last week rookie Devin Singletary got the start and he didn’t disappoint, he rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown. And you can’t forget about the quarterback Josh Allen who may be the best running quarterback not named Lamar Jackson.
If both teams are going to try to run the ball then this game will be decided at the line of scrimmage and it will be up to the defensive lines to get penetration. The Browns took a blow to their defensive line as defensive end Olivier Vernon will miss the game with an injury.
Buffalo will lean on Harrison Phillips, rookie Ed Oliver, Jerry Hughes and Shaq Lawson to eat up some blocks so their talented linebackers Tremaine Edmonds and Matt Milano can come up and make plays.
This will be a good test for the Browns because this is a team of similar talent but who have had a much better season. They have to build some momentum going into the last half of the season and try to rack up some victories.
Prediction: Buffalo Bills 17 Cleveland Browns 21
