The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including the Browns being banged up heading into the Steelers game.

Thursday Night Football has been heavily criticized by players and fans over the past several seasons because of the short week. Players have no time to rest and heal to deal with their nagging injuries from the previous games on Sunday. The Cleveland Browns are currently dealing with this issue.

After defeating the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, the Browns have a quick turnaround and had to be prepared for a divisional game four days after the Bills game. This is causing the Browns players to have to play through some injuries.

Cleveland only had one practice this week so the players would have an extra day of rest between games. But only having one practice is still going to let players recover 100 percent, so some players are going to have to play through some pain.

Notes: Larry Ogunjobi says adrenaline will get him through Steelers game on short week after playing all but one snap against Bills – Scott Petrak, BrownsZone

"The battle to get ready without a full week is fought on two fronts: mental and physical.“Really, short game like this is all mental, just being ready, because both teams are going to be hurting, we both played,” Ogunjobi said."

The Cleveland Browns head into Thursday’s game knowing it is practically a must-win game. It is a divisional opponent and the Browns can’t lose many more games in general if they still want to make the playoffs. So even though several players will be playing hurt, they need to have the same mindset as Ogunjobi to get through the game before a short bye week.

Do the Cleveland Browns need trick plays to win games?

Freddie Kitchens has been known to dial-up creative plays on offense to hopefully gain an advantage on defenses. But Elliot Kennel wonders if the Browns should just be sticking to the basics instead of being “cute” trying to move the football.

Cleveland Browns Pregame Scribbles: A test for Freddie Kitchens, who has yet to impress – Terry Pluto, Cleveland.com

"In this season of great expectations and a return of some discouraging Browns drama, Kitchens has done little to inspire belief that he was the right choice as head coach. A victory over the Steelers and veteran coach Mike Tomlin can be a start to change the “Freddie’s Overwhelmed” narrative."

Kitchens has looked overwhelmed all year in his first season as a head coach and he has been out-coached almost every single week. However, riding off some momentum from Sunday’s win against the Bills could boost the confidence of Kitchens. If he can put together another win over the Steelers and Mike Tomlin, perhaps Kitchens could get a better feeling as the head coach.
