Dud: Myles Garrett

As good as Alejandro Villanueva is, he struggled with Myles Garrett on Thursday night — and not everything Garrett did well was seen on the stat sheet. One example came on the first play of the second quarter.

Facing a 2nd-and-7, the Steelers dropped back to pass and Garrett got a great jump. Mason Rudolph threw an incompletion to Jaylen Samuels, but it got worse for the Steelers as Villanueva was flagged for holding Garrett. That put Pittsburgh in a 2nd-and-17 and they wound up punting two plays later.

That set the Browns up for another score as Khadarel Hodge caught pass for 41 yards and then they capped the drive off with a Jarvis Landry touchdown to go up 14-0. All of that was great, but as has been the case with Garrett often this season, he also had some moments to forget.

Earlier in the season, he was getting roughing the passer penalties, which could be shrugged off as him being overly aggressive. On Thursday, he went overboard and started an unnecessary fight.

Up 21-7 with just seconds remaining, Garrett delivered a hit on Rudolph and the two started to get into it. Before long, Garrett ripped off the quarterback’s helmet and swung it at his head.

Understandably, Rudolph’s teammates came to his aid and a huge fight broke out. Garrett was kicked out and will surely be suspended for a few games as well.
