Round 2: Hamsah Nasirildeen, S, Florida State

Entering this season, the Browns felt as though they were looking solid at safety. Damarious Randall was fresh off the best season of his career and they liked the addition of Morgan Burnett, who worked with general manager John Dorsey and Randall with the Green Bay Packers.

Cleveland also had high hopes for Jermaine Whitehead who was being hailed a leader on defense. Fast-forward to now and Burnett has a torn Achilles suffered in his best game last week, Randall looks to have one foot out the door with free agency approaching, and Whitehead was released after threatening a reporter following a loss.

All that being said, they need to address the safety position in this draft, which leads to their second-round pick being used on Hamsah Nasirildeen out of Florida State.

Nasirildeen isn’t a household name, but he’s an excellent safety prospect with great size and range. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 215-pounds, Nasirildeen has 96 tackles and two picks in the first 10 games of this season for the Seminoles. Assuming they need two new starters in 2020, he should help fill one of those roles.

They do have some high hopes that Sheldrick Redwine can fill one eventually as well but the fact is they will likely need to look at some veteran free agents as well.
