Pick Analysis. WR. UCF. GabrielDavis. 3. player. 886. Scouting Report

Wide receiver was supposed to be the strongest position for the Browns this season. Odell Beckham, Jr. and Jarvis Landry make up a great combination and then they had Antonio Callaway and Rashard Higgins behind them. They strengthened the group, even more, when they traded for Taywan Taylor ahead of the season opener.

Fast-forward to Week 14 and only two of those players have made an impact — and one of them is no longer on the team. That would be Antonio Callaway, who was released following a second suspension this season.

As for Higgins, the team has hardly used him this season despite his rapport with Naker Mayfield. On the year, he has just four receptions for 55 yards and one touchdown (although that was a game-winning score against the Buffalo Bills).

Taylor has been inactive for the most part and has zero receptions in three games. He’s listed on the team’s official roster, but you wouldn’t know it without looking on the web site.

With all that being said, the Browns grab a new third receiver here in Gabriel Davis with the pick they acquired from the Houston Texans in exchange for Duke Johnson. The 6-foot-3, 212-pound Davis is a much bigger target than OBJ and Kandry and has had excellent production for the Knights this season.

In 12 games he has 72 receptions for 1,241 yards and 12 touchdowns. He has a large catch-radius but isn’t super explosive. That’s fine for Cleveland considering they have their explosive players in Juice and OBJ. What they need is a guy capable of making defenses pay for spending too much time focused on the big-name receivers.
