3. Dan Mullen, University of Florida

If you were to ask anyone who studies or works around college football, and they would likely tell you that Dan Mullen is one of the best quarterback coaches in the entire world.

Everywhere Mullen has been in his days as a college coach, either as an offensive coordinator or head coach, he has gotten the most out of his quarterback.

Mullen just knows how to make an offense work around just about style of quarterback, be it Tim Tebow, Dak Prescott, or more impressively Kyle Trask, the backup this year at Florida forced into action who hadn’t played since his freshman year in high school six years ago.

Trask threw for 2,600 yards and 24 touchdowns and helped Florida finish number nine in the final College Football Playoff rankings.

If Dan Mullen can get a quarterback that hasn’t played in almost six years to put up those kinds of numbers in the SEC, imagine what he would be able to do with Baker Mayfield and the playmakers on the Browns offense. His ability to game plan and put everyone in just the right position to make mismatches would allow Baker Mayfield to put the ball where it needs to go quickly and accurately.

If Mullen were to get hired by Cleveland, he would be another coach that would be able to get Baker back to his rookie playmaking ability he showed two seasons ago. Mayfield still has all the swagger he had in college and in 2018 but needs to show improvement on the field to keep up with it to help get Cleveland where they want to be.
