Cleveland Browns News: Frustration becoming ‘contagious’
By Randy Gurzi
Jarvis Landry was supposed to be a leader for the Cleveland Browns but lately, the only thing he is spreading is his frustration with the offense
Things have hitten rock-bottom for the Cleveland Browns. After a Week 15 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, things went out of control.
Running back Kareem Hunt is questioning the effort given by his teammates and it’s hard to blame him. There sure seemed to be a lot of ‘quit’ on the field against Arizona.
There was also a lot of talk on the sidelines. We all saw Jarvis Landry getting into the face of head coach Freddie Kitchens but apparently that wasn’t the only problem coming from Landry.
The wideout who was credited with changing the culture is reportedly getting in on the ‘come get me’ requests that his best friend Odell Beckham, Jr. was accused of doing.
Clearly, the frustration everyone is feeling is starting to become ‘contagious’.
That story and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.
Cleveland Browns News
"“NFL Media’s Mike Silver reported that wide receiver Jarvis Landry and other Browns players were yelling at the Arizona sideline to ‘come get me’, which is a phrase that wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. had reportedly uttered to other teams in pregame warmups earlier in the season. Landry was also caught in a verbal spat with first-year coach Freddie Kitchens on CBS cameras during Sunday’s game.”"
The fact that Mike Silver says this gives many fans pause. He’s a known Cleveland troll but it doesn’t seem too far fetched given the issues that were noticeable from the sideline. Even if Landry wasn’t asking to be traded, he was so angry that he was seen yelling at their coach which is a bad look on its own.
Freddie Kitchens: ‘I care about my job; of course I want to be back’ — Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com
"“I don’t care about my future as Browns coach,’’ he said. “I’m going to do the best job I can do Monday. That’s the only thing I can control.”"
Freddie made the mistake of saying he didn’t care about his future which needed clarification. He now says, of course, he wants to be back. Unfortunately, there aren’t many scenarios where it seems he will.
"“I mean, yeah, I guess so, but it’s everybody. You can’t point out one person or nothing like that. … I feel like there were some plays that everybody didn’t leave their 110% out there through the whole play, through the whole whistle. And we’ve all got to do that if we want to be successful.”"
This was just one of many things to come out of Cleveland on Monday and honestly, it was the least shocking. Everyone saw the players give up, so there was no surprise they got called on it.
5 college head coaches to replace Freddie Kitchens
Matt McFatridge knows that Freddie might not be back in 2019. He also knows the Browns will want someone who has experience as a head coach. If they deem college experience to be sufficient, these are five names to keep an eye on.
