Colin Cowherd has been on the Cleveland Browns for years and now says the arrogant fans should stop talking because they’ve been wrong for a decade

It’s not surprising that Colin Cowherd and Joy Taylor decided to take some shots at the Cleveland Browns this week. Throughout the season, these two have held the belief that this Browns team was going to be a mess.

Now at 6-8 with only two games to play, it has become official that they will be the only team in the NFL without a win in this decade. And that was a topic for the two FS1 personalities who say they don’t know what to make of this team.

Taylor started out by saying there were other teams she could see having as much failure as the Browns. She mentions Detroit and Cincinnati but then remembers they have had some success — whereas the Browns have not.

From there, Cowherd took over and blasted the fan base for being so arrogant, saying he has never met one with so much unwarranted pride.

"“Never met a fan base that was so arrogant, Cleveland fans have been wrong for a decade, on everything. And yet if you question anything about them, they come out with daggers and knives.” He continued from there and had some advice for fans going forward. “Just stop talking and listen to the rest of us because you’ve been wrong for a decade straight.”"

As frustrating as Cowherd can be, there’s a lot of truth in what he says. The Browns have continually been bad and there are some fans that don’t think anyone is allowed to question them.

This has been especially true during the past two seasons with John Dorsey as general manager. Dorsey has made some great moves but he also has made a lot of mistakes that get glossed over.

One was whiffing on Austin Corbett with the 32nd pick — with players such as Orlando Brown and Will Hernandez still sitting there. Both those players are now starting whereas Corbett is in Los Angeles with the Rams.

He also completely ignored the offensive line in free agency and then refused to get solid depth on the defensive line — trading away players such as Emmanuel Ogbah and Genard Avery while cutting Carl Nassib.

Of course, Dorsey’s biggest mistake was hiring Freddie Kitchens who is clearly not ready for the role of head coach. Dorsey was the one who needed to make the judgment on Kitchens and he was wrong.

Taylor discusses this as well saying Kitchens wasn’t prepared for the job but blamed Dorsey for offering it to him.

It’s not fun hearing the outside criticism but this team needs to. What they have been doing for more than a decade has not worked. Maybe they need a new approach.
