1. Former Panthers head coach Ron Rivera

The Cleveland Browns are in need of a leader, and Ron Rivera exactly fits that mold. He has been to a Super Bowl and has always led a top team in a tough division. He may not have had success in 2019, but Cam Newton‘s injuries and regression played a major role in that.

Rivera would bring a fiery personality to Cleveland and instill the discipline the Browns desperately need. He also is not afraid to buck the trend of conventional wisdom in terms of game management and is not afraid to take some chances.

Rivera would command the respect of the Browns locker room and would not have issues with the team not giving full effort for an entire game. Rivera is a players coach and gets the best out of them no matter what.

Although Rivera is a defensive minded coach, he still had success in this age of explosive offenses. Cleveland would not have to change defensive schemes either, as Browns defensive coordinator Steve Wilks was Rivera’s coordinator just a few seasons ago.

The Browns need accountability and discipline, and that is exactly what Rivera would bring. He may not be the young, innovative offensive coach that is the trend in the NFL, but he is the perfect fit for what the Browns need right now.
