It’s hard to believe it, but the final game of the regular season is here. The Cleveland Browns will wrap things up with a road trip to face their in-state rivals — the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17.
There’s not much to play for outside of pride as the Browns enter the game with a record of 6-9. As for the Bengals, they’re 1-14 and are already guaranteed the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
They’re expected to take LSU’s Joe Burrow — who had a monster game on Saturday to move his team to the National Championship game. That could lead to current quarterback Andy Dalton being motivated to prove he can still play in the NFL, although it will likely be with another team next year.

Speaking of needing to prove themselves, Cleveland head coach Freddie Kitchens needs to do just that. There are reports that the front office wants to keep him despite his struggles but that could change if they stink it up against the Bengals.
Some of the players are also hoping to have a great game as Baker Mayfield has said he wants to finish the season strong, hoping to build some confidence heading into the offseason.

Cleveland will finish this decade as the only team without a winning season but that doesn’t mean the future needs to be bleak. They have plenty of young talent, but they clearly need to figure out a direction. Maybe that can start in Week 17.
