Cleveland Browns new uniforms won’t be so new

The Cleveland Browns are changing uniforms for the 2020 season and according to Tony Grossi, they should be revealed before the draft and will be a familiar look
Prior to the 2015 season, the Cleveland Browns re-designed their uniforms. And it wasn’t easy finding anyone who approved of the look.
While the color scheme didn’t change (although they did slightly alter the orange font on their logo which was widely mocked) the rest of the uniform was drastically altered.
Big block letters went across the jeresy saying “Cleveland” and “Browns was written down the side. Making matters worse was the fact that the team’s play in these uniforms was even uglier.
Eventually, team owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam realized the look was not growing on the fans and an announcement was made that they would once again have a new look in 2020. Although according to Tony Grossi, the new look won’t be so new.
Grossi says the new uniforms will be more traditional, like the one we saw when they came back to the NFL in 1999. For many fans, this is going to be welcome news. There have been cries for a return to this look and it seems as though the team is giving them what they want.
However, I personally was hoping for something different. I understand there’s a ton of history with the look but also was open to something different — and not all things are different are bad.
While their current uniforms went over poorly, fans did love the all brown color rush uniform. In fact, the team even petitioned the league to be able to wear that one more than the normally allotted two times for an alternate uniform.
Seeing the team use something similar to that while still being able to use the throwbacks as alternates seems as though it would have been a better idea.
But at least, the openly mocked uniform will be gone. So that’s a win.
