Retooling the Cleveland Browns: Mock Draft 1.0 after Kevin Stefanski hire
By Mitch Zoloty
The Browns secure up the other tackle position by selecting left tackle Josh Jones with the 41st pick in the draft. Josh Jones is an analytics fan-favorite, as he was awarded as the first team all american at offensive tackle by Pro Football Focus.
Sometimes, offensive tackles who are not at a Power 5 school tend to be raw and can need a little bit of development in the NFL. Josh Jones could sure use some fine tuning before his is a star in the NFL, specifically with his footwork and pass sets, but I think he has shown some promise to become an NFL superstar one day. Pro Football Focus credits him with only 4 pressures allowed on 325 pass blocking snaps, and also mentions that he was only penalized twice this season. That type of consistency and reliability would be huge for this Browns offense.
Listed at 6’7 and 310lbs on the team’s official roster, he is a mammoth of a human being who could probably even look to add a few pounds and become a true force in the NFL. His size is deal for a left tackle, and since the Browns are entering the renaissance of Cleveland analytics, he seems to be a good bet to be drafted by the Browns in April.
