Retooling the Cleveland Browns: Mock Draft 1.0 after Kevin Stefanski hire
By Mitch Zoloty
The Cleveland Browns draft some defensive line depth with their pick they acquired for running back Duke Johnson, Jr. from the Houston Texans. I still wish Duke was a Cleveland Brown, but we have to make the best of what we have.
Defensive tackle Rashard Lawrence started 33 games for the LSU Tigers and was a crucial part of what I think was the greatest college football team of all time.

In addition to helping LSU win the National Championship, he was also listed on the Second-Team All-SEC team. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 308-pounds, the Browns could use a man of his talents as a backup for their star-studded defensive line.
With the ability to play defensive tackle and defensive end, he projects more as a 3 technique in my opinion than he does a defensive end, but could still definitely be a backup as both for the Browns. I expect the Browns to draft some backup defensive linemen this offseason and sign some in free agency since the depth was exposed this season when Myles Garrett was suspended.
Even without considering the suspension, adding Lawrence could be huge. The Browns were gashed in run defense late in the season, and a lot of that had to do with the lack of depth on the line.
