Retooling the Cleveland Browns: Mock Draft 1.0 after Kevin Stefanski hire
By Mitch Zoloty
With Kareem Hunt as a restricted free agent and worth much more than the Browns will be willing to pay for a backup running back. I don’t expect him to be on the team much longer. The team would be wise to put a 2nd or 1st round tender on Hunt and draft a backup running back in the upcoming draft.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire would be a great backup running back for the Browns, as he is almost as effective as a receiver as he is a running back. He is fast, elusive, and just overall talented. Listed at 5-8 and 209lbs, he is a little undersized but would be a perfect addition to this Browns offense as he wouldn’t be a 3 down back.
He also has some experience returning kicks as he returned 42 kicks in his 3-year career at LSU.
The Browns dip into the Pioneer Football League for their 6th round draft pick by selecting tight end Adam Trautman out of Dayton. Listed as 6-foot-6 and 253lbs, he is a great prototypical tight end with serious ball skills. If he improves his blocking, he could be a solid NFL tight end for the Browns to have backing up David Njoku.
With the last pick the Cleveland Browns have, they select a possible depth piece at middle linebacker in Daniel Bituli. Listed at a whopping 6-3 252lbs, he has the size to be a force in the middle of the field for the Browns. A starter at Tennessee since his sophomore year, he has had quite a college football career, with a total of 41 starts.
A 2nd team member of the All-SEC team in 2019, he would be a great late-round draft pick for the Cleveland Browns.
