Tristan Wirfs – Iowa Right Tackle

Another solid option projected to go within the top-10 during the 2020 NFL Draft. Tristan Wirfs is another solid right tackle option for the Cleveland Browns. Wirfs has proven time and time again that he can play at a high level for all four years of his collegiate career.

Wirfs is the first true freshman to start at offensive tackle for Iowa since 1999. Personally, that should mean something to anybody looking to draft Wirfs. His maturity and talent showed he was able to do the job at a high-level as a freshman for a team that plays against plenty of edge rushers that end up in the NFL.

Drafting Wirfs isn’t a loss in this draft, but passing on Wills or Thomas for Wirfs would be a mistake. The talent drops off after Wills but Wirfs is still a viable option to start at right tackle for the Browns. In all reality, I don’t think Wirfs could possibly be worse than Chris Hubbard.

The Cleveland Browns need an offensive tackle. If the Browns don’t make changes to that position in free agency, then taking a tackle at 10th overall is a must. Going into the 2020 season with the same tackles as the Browns started in 2019 is a big loss for this team.
