The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including if George Paton feels he would fit with the organization.
With the Senior Bowl underway in Mobile, Alabama, the Cleveland Browns are still conducting their search for a general manager. The process could be winding down, as Minnesota Vikings assistant general manager George Paton made his second visit to the Browns facility on Wednesday.
It was reported on Monday that the Browns could potentially hire Paton early this week and Wednesday seemed like the day a move would be made. Paton making a second visit with the organization made it appear that an agreement could be in the works.
Instead, Paton finished his visit with the Browns and traveled back to Minnesota with no reported agreement in place. Paton is known to be very selective about jobs he interviews for, so it is no guarantee his two visits means he is destined to take the job.

"A source said Browns coach Kevin Stefanski, who worked with Paton for 13 years in Minnesota wants him “in the worst way,” but both sides have some things to work through before they’re ready to make the commitment."
It is not a surprise that Paton is the perceived favorite for the job considering his connections with Kevin Stefanski. However, the Browns will need to make sure they will have the front office structured in a manner that suits Paton since he will only leave Minnesota for a job that he considers is the perfect fit.
Can Bill Callahan develop Cleveland Browns offensive linemen?
The Cleveland Browns made what many consider a fantastic by making Bill Callahan the offensive line coach. Elliot Kennel wonders if Callahan will finally be the coach who will help develop the Browns offensive line and get the best out of the unit.
"Priefer, assistant special teams coach Doug Colman and run game coordinator/running backs coach Stump Mitchell will be a part of head coach Kevin Stefanski’s first staff in Cleveland, Stefanski confirmed Wednesday at the Greater Cleveland Sports Awards."
Despite Cleveland’s struggles in 2019, certain groups of the team excelled throughout the season. Two of those units were the running backs and the special teams, which has helped the special teams staff and Stump Mitchell keep their positions on Stefanski’s coaching staff.
