3 Ohio State players the Cleveland Browns should consider drafting
Ohio State football players are coming to the NFL ready to compete. The Cleveland Browns should consider drafting some of them in the 2020 NFL Draft.
We know that the Cleveland Browns have an Ivy League front office in place, but it is time for them to stop being the smartest men in the room when it comes to drafting Ohio State football players. For years, the Browns have had the advantage of having the Buckeyes in its own backyard to scout, but tend to stay away from them when it comes time to the draft.
The Browns drafted Denzel Ward in the first round of the 2018 draft. Pretty solid pick. The last time a Ohio State player was drafted by the Browns before Ward was wide receiver Brian Robiskie in 2009. That is incredible considering the amount of talent that Urban Meyer has pumped into the NFL during the last decade.
Meanwhile teams like the New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers are loaded with Buckeye talent and seem to be playoff contenders year in and year out. It is time for the Browns to start doing the same, and here are three Buckeyes in the 2020 NFL Draft who could help.

Jonah Jackson, Offensive Lineman
Jonah Jackson is projected to be picked anywhere from the third to sixth round of the upcoming NFL Draft. However, his play at the Senior Bowl this week in Mobile, Alabama has assured him to be picked sooner rather than later.
Completely dominating his opponents this week in one vs. one battles, Jackson, who has played both left and right guard during his college career that includes time at Rutgers, can step right into the massive hole at right guard for the Browns next season.
The Browns have talented skill position players. It is time to start building the interior of this team on both lines. Jackson will be a day one starter and help anchor an NFL offensive line for years to come.
Malik Harrison, Linebacker
Malik Harrison is another Buckeye projected to be a mid-round pick, but seems to have some momentum to being selected higher in this draft. The weak-side linebacker for the Buckeyes this past season, Harrison always seems to make a big play in every game.
Harrison had 75 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries this past season at Ohio State and is also showing up at practice in Mobile.
With excellent sideline-to-sideline speed, Harrison has the prototypical linebacker size at six-foot-two and 240 pounds. He shows the ability to shed blockers and can also rush the passer when asked. Harrison sure would look good wearing an orange helmet on Sunday’s.
K.J. Hill, Wide Receiver
Talk about someone having a good week at the Senior Bowl, K.J. Hill might just be the best player out there this week. Scorching defenders in one vs. one matchup’s and making ridiculous one-handed grabs, Hill is turning himself into last years version of Terry McLaurin.
Hill has been the talk of Mobile for his route running abilities, sure hands, and great awareness on the field to find weak spots in the opposing defense.
With Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry on the roster, it seems as if the receiver position is in good shape. But behind them are a bunch of question marks. What is going to happen with Rashard Higgins? Is Damion Ratley a legitimate NFL player? John Dorsey traded for Taywan Taylor last season and didn’t record a catch. Also, will Beckham still be on the team in 2020?
The need at receiver is real, and K.J. Hill would be an awesome addition to this roster.
