Retooling the Cleveland Browns 2.0: Mock draft post-Senior Bowl
By Mitch Zoloty
Now that the Senior Bowl has passed, we are even closer to being able to see who will be available for the Cleveland Browns when they go to draft in April.
It’s been about two weeks since the last Cleveland Browns mock draft, and a lot has changed in the draft world. The Senior Bowl is now over and many draft boards have been re-evaluated. However, much has not changed for the Cleveland Browns.
The team is still without a general manager, and the team still has the same needs. The Browns are looking forward to patching the holes on the team through the draft, as it is the cheapest option to do so.
No players have signed extensions yet, so Joe Schobert and Damarious Randall are still set to become free agents. The team’s biggest draft needs are still both right and left tackle, both free safety and strong safety, a MIKE linebacker, a SAM linebacker or a box safety if the team decides to run a 4-2-5 defense, and offensive guard. The team could also look up to pick up depth at every position, but you shouldn’t draft depth until day three of the NFL draft.
Whoever comes in to be the Browns general manager will inherit seven draft picks to fix these issues, and the draft is full of talent at all of these positions, especially at offensive tackle. So, with all that being said, let’s take a look at who they could end up drafting.
