The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including a continued push by Browns and Bengals fans for medical marijuana — which is needed most on Mondays

It’s hard to argue against the use of medical marijuana. It’s growing in acceptance and there’s tons of medical research out there that is far beyond my comprehension that shows why it is a positive treatment for some conditions.

However, being a fan of the Cleveland Browns or Cincinnati Bengals doesn’t seem like a real condition.

That hasn’t stopped some Ohio-based fans from petitioning the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program to add their “condition” as a qualifier for the medical drug.

Petition to give Browns, Bengals fans medical marijuana says condition is worst on Monday mornings — Courtney Shaw, News 5 Cleveland

"“The evidence that the State Medical Board of Ohio should consider include the lack of playoff appearances from both teams, and that the condition is at its worst on Monday mornings.According to the petition, the medical marijuana will treat fans by putting happy smiles on their faces when they are disappointed.”"

Shaw said some of the details in this petition were “giggle-inducing” and she’s absolutely right. The fact that they say the medical treatment is to put smiles on their faces is great but then they even refuse to get a doctor’s opinion, instead saying no one could possibly disagree. I’m pretty sure this one won’t pass.

Ross Tucker: Browns could be a Niners-type team, maybe even as soon as next year ‚— Bull and Fox, 92.3 The Fan

"“Former NFL offensive lineman and Radio.com Sports NFL Insider Ross Tucker joined Bull & Fox to talk about the Browns’ hiring of Andrew Berry as GM, the process that included two interviews with George Paton as well and the Super Bowl matchup between the Chiefs and 49ers. “"

Look, I get it, the Browns have a new regime. They have some talented players. But let’s start winning some games this time before we go too crazy. I am as guilty of anyone as buying in for the 2019 season, but let’s not start these comps just yet.

With the Cleveland Browns hiring of Andrew Berry, Jimmy Haslam must change — Terry Pluto, Cleveland.com

"“I’m not going to make fun of analytics, “alignment” or any other Browns buzzwords under Chief Strategy office Paul DePodesta. Will it work?Probably not, if Owner Jimmy Halsam keeps acting like Owner Jimmy Haslam.”"

That’s the one thing that had derailed this franchise over and over — Jimmy Haslam acting like Jimmy Haslam. If he backs off and lets these guys do their things, it might be great. However, he hasn’t been able to do that yet. And that’s frightening.

Kareem Hunt decision will be first test of Cleveland Browns new regime

I was ridiculed when I said the citation for Antonio Callaway was a terrible sign in 2018, but it proved to be just a small sample of what was going on behind closed doors. The Browns now have to think about whether or not they want to let a “small citation” change their minds on Kareem Hunt. Dan Justik looks at this situation and calls it the new regime’s first big test.
