Cleveland Browns News: Jarvis Landry takes another shot at Freddie Kitchens
By Randy Gurzi
Jarvis Landry hasn’t completely unloaded on Freddie Kitchens but he has thrown a couple of jabs at the former Cleveland Browns head coach, and did so again
Well, at least no one has called him fake. Former Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens rose to prominence and then fell from grace faster than anyone in recent memory in the NFL.
After taking over for a fired Todd Haley in 2018, the interim offensive coordinator made believers out of Browns fans and the front office. That led to him being named head coach just months after we all asked “who” when it was announced he would be calling plays.
And since he was fired, the grumblings of how unhappy players were with him have surfaced. It hasn’t been to the level of Baker Mayfield calling out Hue Jackson, but it’s clear there’s no love lost between Kitchens and some of the players — namely, Jarvis Landry.

Earlier in the offseason, Landry had some words in regard to Kitchens’ inability to get respect from his players. Now, he’s saying the coach couldn’t get everyone on the same page — which was pretty evident by the way they played.

Jarvis Landry: Browns never got on same page with Freddie Kitchens — Ben Axelrod, WKYC.com
"“I think it was the right thing to [hire Kitchens], [with the relationship he had formed with Baker [Mayfield]. But running a team is a lot more than being personable with one guy and coaching one guy,” Landry said. “Not that he was in over his head or anything like that, but we just couldn’t find a way to get on the same page and figure out what our identity was.”"
Kitchens turned out to be his own worst enemy in Cleveland. He had a good roster but just refused to stick with whatever was working — especially when it came to running the ball. It became apparent rather quickly that he was in over his head and even worse, he wouldn’t take any help from his more experienced coordinators such as Todd Monken. Now, Landry is pulling back the curtains and letting us all see how things really were.
Cleveland Browns land offensive coordinator in Alex Van Pelt
They tried to sneak it in late on Wednesday night, but the Browns found a new offensive coordinator in Alex Van Pelt. It might not be a household name, but he worked with a very talented quarterback in Green Bay and was well-liked by him as well.
"Cleveland, you now have a Baker you can trust in,” Baker said to the crowd, who serenaded her with a loud chorus of boos, as well as derogatory chants toward her hometown of Pittsburgh."
Ok, so for the majority of you reading, this was a comment made by a Dr. Britt Baker, who is a member of AEW Wrestling. Now, I have no idea what AEW Wrestling is, but I am roughly 97 percent sure this woman is not a real doctor. That’s all I got out of this story.
Would the Cleveland Browns look past obvious needs for an unreal talent?
We all know that Cleveland desperately needs offensive tackles, and the need for a good safety isn’t too far behind. Trey Zimmer wonders if the team might look past those needs if someone with elite talent at another position falls to them at No. 10.
