Cleveland Browns 7-round mock draft, with projected trades

Round 4, Pick 126: Lamical Perine, RB, Florida
The extra pick landed from Green Bay for dropping down earlier gets cashed in here and the Browns end up with a talented running back in Lamical Perine. The Florida product never topped the 1,000-yard mark but that could be seen as a positive. Unlike many running backs, he wasn’t subjected to many hits as he never had more than 136 rushing attempts in a single season.
Even without getting workhorse numbers, Perine impressed with the Gators. He averaged 5.1 yards per carry and while he started slowly in the receiving department, he ended up rounding into a threat out of the backfield. In his final season, he had 40 receptions for 262 yards and five touchdowns.
Perine then performed well in the Senior Bowl with seven rushes for 42 yards and another 17 yards on two receptions, with a touchdown. For the Browns, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him continue to garner similar touches as he would be behind one of the best in the game in Nick Chubb, who nearly won the NFL rushing title.
For a while, this pick seemed to be one the Browns wouldn’t make as they had Kareem Hunt behind Chubb, who was the NFL rushing leader in 2017. However, Hunt is a free agent and a recent run-in with the law could give the new regime pause when it comes to offering him a restricted free agent deal.
