The Cleveland Browns have become a prominent team of cutting a player, but then that player finds their footing with another team and becomes a key contributor. For the 2019 season example of that, look no further than 49ers running back Raheem Mostert.

The Browns cut Mostert before the 2016 season. Mostert was cut by two more teams after the Browns before he landed with the San Francisco 49ers at the end of the 2016 season. Mostert gave a glimpse of the impact he can make 2018, but finally exploded onto the scene in 2019.

Mostert has become a key player for the 49ers after they gave him the chance to prove his talent on the field. With how many times he had been cut prior to joining the 49ers, Mostert had been waiting for a team to give him chance.

The Browns were the perfect fit for Mostert because his family’s connection to the city and what he had been through in the past. Although it was a cut that hurt him the most, the move made him mentally stronger and helped him land on his feet with the 49ers.

Oh what a year can do when it comes to expectations. Last year the Browns were a hot Super Bowl pick around the nation and were one of the teams with the best odds to reach the Super Bowl. But after their disappointing season, it is not a surprise that odds makers aren’t looking favorably at the Browns and are going to make them prove they are truly playoff contenders.
