The Cleveland Browns will enter the 2020 offseason with a new philosophy in the front office, and that could have a large effect on the team’s free agents.

Almost every spring, the talk is that the Cleveland Browns are entering a critical offseason. With the team spending most of the 2010’s decade in the basement of the league’s standings, the Browns were regularly tasked with trying to rebuild their roster to attempt to become contenders.

However, the Browns are entering a critical offseason because they have a roster built to be a contender. With some adjustments to the roster, the Browns should be viewed as a playoff contender for the 2020 season.

Despite having talent across the depth chart, there will likely be a fair share of roster turnover during the offseason. With a deeper analytics approach in the front office and a new coaching staff, the roster will be tweaked to better fit the coaching staff’s schemes and to bring in players who may be undervalued across the league.

The free agency period will be one of the first times the league will get to see how the Browns will approach building their roster. Will they start to move on from players acquired by John Dorsey and his regime? Or will the front office keep the roster intact instead of overhauling the roster to bring in their own players?

Cleveland has 14 players from the 2019 roster set to become free agents this offseason, including seven unrestricted free agents. Here is a look at all of Cleveland’s free agents based on their contract status, as well as the five key free agents, and what their future might hold with the Browns.
