. Right Tackle. Bulldogs . Isaiah Wilson. 3. player. 814

Isaiah Wilson’s draft stock has been projected all over the place. Some say he is a second round pick, while others project him as a day three draft pick. Third round seems to be a sweet spot for him, and he may very well be in play there for the Cleveland Browns.

A former five star recruit out of New York, Wilson started 24 games at right tackle for the Georgia Bulldogs. Wilson gets overshadowed by teammate Andrew Thomas, who is likely to be a top-10 draft pick this year, but is still a very intriguing prospect himself.

Listed at a whopping 6’7 and 340lbs, he has the size that most NFL scouts look for. His footwork and ability to bend are his two biggest question marks on his draft stock. Those will be two attributes that will be exposed and tested at the combine, so it will be interesting to see if his draft preparation has helped him improve in those categories. If he can prove his athleticism, he for sure has the potential to be a great right tackle in the NFL.

Wilson’s success is going to be extremely dependent on his offensive line coach in the NFL, as he is a very raw prospect. How much one is willing to wait for him to develop is going to be the biggest determination in where he lands in the draft. If he is a day one starter somewhere I’d be surprised, but with that being said, he has insane potential. He is similar to Mehki Becton, although Becton is a little more polished.

Wilson is the definition of a boom or bust pick for the third to fourth round, and the Browns could certainly take the risk with him, as they still have Chris Hubbard on the roster who can act as a bridge tackle. Wilson should definitely not be the first offensive tackle the Browns draft, but would be a good long-term project for coach Bill Callahan.
