Retooling the Cleveland Browns 3.0: Pre-Combine mock draft
By Mitch Zoloty
Projecting day three NFL draft picks is extremely hard, as there is so many moving pieces in the draft prior to this pick. I’d expect the Browns to start taking some serious dudes who have the physical capabilities to be NFL players, but didn’t produce as much at the college level. One of these types of guys is Texas A&M wide receiver, Kendrick Rogers.

With Rashard Higgins likely on his way out of Cleveland, the Browns have a need for a third receiver behind Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. Behind the Browns dynamic duo at wide receiver, the next highest amount of catches a receiver had was 20 and that was Damion Ratley. The Browns are extremely top-heavy at this position, and Rogers could provide some serious depth for the unit.
This wide receiver class is incredibly deep, so it is realistic that Rogers would be on the board when the Browns are on the clock for this pick. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 205-lbs, Rogers could develop into a great red zone threat and outside receiver for the Browns.
The reason his draft stock may not be as high as it should be was his production. He only had 30 catches last season and two touchdowns for the Aggies. This late in the draft, the Browns should look past his lack of production and look at the potential he could bring to the Browns receiving core.
Even if the Browns do end up bringing back Rashard Higgins, I could still see Rogers being the pick here as they are two extremely different wide receivers. His size and potential are too good to pass up here in the sixth round, so the Browns should try to find a way to work him into their offense.
