4. Isiah Simmons, Clemson

This is the one and only draft prospect on the list for several reasons; he is an absolute stud and linebackers are very thin in this draft but this would be well worth the Browns first-round pick.

Isiah Simmons has been a terror at Clemson for the past two years. On a defense that lost a lot of talent Simmons had 104 tackles, seven sacks, three interceptions, and three pass break-ups. He was a unanimous First-Team All-American, ACC defensive player of the year and the Butkus award winner for the best linebacker in college football. He’s as legit of a prospect as there is in the 2020 class — for any position.

There have even been talks that he could move to safety in the NFL, not because he wouldn’t be a good linebacker but rather because he is just that versatile and talented.

The biggest problem with trying to acquire Simmons is where the Browns are slotted to pick. Most mock drafts have him going before Cleveland is on the clock at No. 10. Some draft experts even have him going the pick before at No, 9 overall. If he falls that far Cleveland should trade up to take him.

Some people will ask why trade away assets when we already have a middle linebacker? If you have the chance you don’t miss out on a player with this much potential. He would be cheaper than Schobert and allow you to sign players at other positions.

He probably wouldn’t be as good as Schobert right away but once he figures it out he could be a big-time difference-maker. This would be a home run pick for the Browns.
