With Joe Schobert not coming back, the Cleveland Browns have another gap to fill. With the draft having some solid options at linebacker, a few names come to mind to replace him.

With the Cleveland Browns reportedly allowing Joe Schobert to reach the free agent market and not planning to meet his contract demands, the Browns will begin their search for a new linebacker, including potentially in the draft.

The NFL Draft is an event that is interpreted in many different ways by many different fans across the world. For some, it is an exciting time year-after-year to get to see what new and exciting young player will be added to their favorite team.

For others, their team always has a late first round pick and don’t think much of it. Either way, one thing is for certain; the draft is always loaded with tons of top prospects, guys who you think will be average, and under the radar sleepers that end up having a solid career in the NFL.

In terms of the 2020 NFL Draft, there are many different linebackers to pick and choose from. From top of the board prospects like Isaiah Simmons and Kenneth Murray, to potential sleeper picks like Davion Taylor or Jacob Phillips, there is plenty of love to go around.

Some guys had monster outings in the combine drills, like top prospect Isaiah Simmons running a blazing 4.39 in the 40-yard dash. The Browns are also a destination that many young guys may think highly of, despite the 6-10 record last season. With new leadership, help on the offensive line and a quarterback in Baker Mayfield who will be hungry to bounce back, the team can be very appealing.

As many of the top linebacker prospects get taken in this years draft, the Browns will have to really dig deep and dive into some of these sleeper guys if they don’t use money in free agency to fill the current linebacker hole alongside Mack Wilson. Here is a look at three guys the Browns could select in the later rounds to fill Schobert’s shoes.
