1. Yannick Ngakoue, Defensive End

Yannick Ngakoue has recently stated he does not want to be a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars and wants to move to a new team. Cleveland would be a lucky recipient if able to land Ngakoue.

Ngakoue is a very talented defensive end. He has produced impressive sack numbers, forced fumbles, and tackles for loss. If lined up opposite Myles Garrett, they would be unstoppable.

This can be possible if the Browns release Olivier Vernon. Vernon is due over 15 million dollars next year and last year’s production does not warrant that type of pay. They could save that money and give it to Ngakoue, although he would probably want a little more than that.

Yes, it would be a very pricey move, but it would result in an elite defensive end combination. Ngakoue is also reported to be franchise tagged by Jacksonville so this would also require a trade. This again could be a reason the Browns would elect not to pursue Ngakoue, but it certainly could happen.

If Vernon is released, Cleveland would have the firepower to sign Ngakoue if they wanted to. The front office first has to decide what they are going to do with Vernon. But if Ngakoue becomes a Brown, the defensive line will be an absolute problem for opposing offenses.

Of course, the one hang-up here is that the Jags plan to franchise tag their talented defensive end. However, that doesn’t mean he can’t be brought in, even if it means giving up some assets in return.

These 5 players are definitely worth watching as free agency approaches. They could come to Cleveland and make an immediate, positive impact. We will see who the new regime elects to pursue, but these would be awesome additions.
