1. Mitchell Schwartz, 2012, Round 2

The only active player on this list, Mitchell Schwartz was chosen by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. The tackle out of the University of California was considered to be one of the key picks in that year’s draft for the Browns.

More from Browns All-Time Lists

And Schwartz rewarded the Browns by playing in every game during his four seasons, and like Thomas never missed a snap.

Schwartz was named to the Pro Football Focus All-Rookie Team for his “top-notch pass blocking”.

Fr four seasons, the Cleveland Browns had a set of bookend tackles that never missed a snap. Think about that for a second. From 2012 through 2015, the Browns didn’t have to think about either tackle spot. They just plugged Joe Thomas in at left tackle and Mitchell Schwartz in at right tackle.

Schwartz left the Browns in free agency after the 2015 season and signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. Schwartz has continued to be an anchor for that team’s line and helped the team win its first Super Bowl title in nearly 50 years.

I’m aware that the selection of Schwartz may be a bitter one for some fans. Schwartz is the only player on this list that will likely not finish his career as a Cleveland Brown. However, when looking at the best tackles that the Cleveland Browns have drafted, leaving Schwartz off would be a glaring omission.
