The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including whether or not Tre Boston should be a priority free agent target

All eyes this offseason have been on the offensive tackle position for the Cleveland Browns. That’s understandable since it was such a major weakness for them the past two seasons. And in order to take the next step, they have to get that spot fixed.

However, there are more holes on the roster that need to be filled and safety is right up there with the most glaring holes. With Damarious Randall all but gone, and Morgan Burnett rehabbing from a torn Achilles, Cleveland needs to add some talent.

For that reason, Ben Linsey from Pro Football Focus has Tre Boston selected as the perfect offseason match for the Browns as free agency approaches.

The one 2020 free agent each NFL team must sign: 32 perfect matches — Ben Linsey, PFF

"“The fact Boston hasn’t been able to secure a long-term contract the past several years is baffling. Over the past three seasons, he ranks second in coverage grade among qualifying safeties while playing the fifth-most snaps of any safety in the NFL, and his 27 combined pass breakups and interceptions over those three seasons is fewer than only Kevin Byard.”"

Tre Boston is a very talented safety but has been changing teams frequently. This is the fourth season in a row he’s looking for a new home and the Browns would be wise to give him a shot. He would be an instant starter for them and an upgrade over the production they had a season ago.

Is pursuing Joe Thuney in free agency a necessity for Cleveland Browns?

Dan Justik knows that the Browns need help at right guard which makes him ask about the possibility of targeting Joe Thuney, most recently of the New England Patriots.

Isn’t it a no-brainer for the Browns to draft a left tackle at No. 10 instead of trading for Trent Williams? Hey, Mary Kay! — Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"“The benefit of acquiring a perennial Pro Bowler such as Williams is that he’s guaranteed to be good, whereas draft picks are almost always a gamble regardless of their credentials.”"

One thing Mary Kay thinks could help the Browns decide whether or not to make a deal is the relationship that Trent Williams has with new offensive line coach Bill Callahan. The two know one another well and Callahan can give a great opinion on whether or not Williams is worth the price.

Odell Beckham Jr. could become model Cleveland Brown: Crowquill — Ted Crow, Special to The Plain Dealer

"“But there’s at least one early sign that maybe the team wants to keep OBJ. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported OBJ helped model new-look Browns’ uniforms in an undercover photoshoot. The new look will probably not be unveiled until April around the time of the NFL Draft.”"

The rumors about trading OBJ will never stop until either he does leave the Browns — whether that be during his career or at retirement. However, Ted Crow says that him being selected to model the new uniforms shows he is still in the plans, even if that’s not as fun of a story to tell.

The 5 worst first round draft picks for the Cleveland Browns since 1999
