Mehki Becton is one of the most interesting prospects in the NFL draft. The Browns reportedly had a formal interview with Becton at the NFL Combine. Becton is undoubtedly going to be a first-round pick, so the Browns are probably looking at him to be their first-round pick if they stay at pick No. 10. According to Daniel Jeremiah’s last big board, Becton is his 5th ranked prospect.

I’d say that Mehki Becton has the highest ceiling of any offensive lineman in the NFL draft. The only prospect with a similar ceiling as Becton is Tristan Wirfs, who is extremely athletic in his own right. Becton, though, has a lower floor than the other top tackle prospects. He could need some fine-tuning with his technique, but it seems that NFL teams are more than willing to give him a chance.

The Browns first-round pick is in a very interesting location, picking tenth in the draft they are destined to get one of the top tier offensive tackles. They may even get to choose between two or three of them. This pick will be entirely up to offensive line coach Bill Callahan. Callahan has an incredible background in developing offensive linemen, so selecting Becton at ten would be a great fit for both parties involved.

The Browns are for sure looking at Becton with the tenth pick, or if they may trade up or down within a few selections. Becton will NOT be on the board with the Browns 41st pick, and will most likely not escape the top 20 in the draft.

The meeting with quarterback James Morgan was reportedly at the East-West Shrine all-star game practices. James Morgan is most likely a late day three draft pick or an undrafted free agent. The Browns could be looking to bring him in as a third quarterback if the team decides to carry three this next season. I doubt the Browns try to carry only Baker Mayfield and a rookie quarterback into next season, so Morgan might be an option as a potential third quarterback.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski only carried two quarterbacks into week one last season as the Vikings’ offensive coordinator, so I could see him doing the same in Cleveland. Morgan could also potentially be a practice squad player, and the Browns could try to develop him into the backup for Baker Mayfield in the future.

Morgan measured into the NFL draft combine at a solid 6-foot-4 and 229-pounds. If I had to predict, the Browns are evaluating James Morgan as a priority undrafted free agent.
