2. Tyler Eifert, Cincinnati Bengals

At No. 2, we have a former day one pick who is set to hit free agency this week. Back in 2013, the Cincinnati Bengals used the 21st overall pick n Notre Dame tight end Tyler Eifert who was one of the more heralded tight ends to enter the league in several years at that point.

Eifert was praised for his route-running and incredibly sure hands. And as a rookie, he started to show signs of his talent as he had 445 yards and two scores on 39 receptions. After missing all but one game the following season, he broke out in 2015 by hauling in 52 passes for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns. It was the first time he was named to a Pro Bowl, and to date, it’s been his only trip to the All-Star game.

Since that season, Eifert has struggled to stay on the field. He missed eight games in 2016, 14 in 2017, and 12 in 2018 — which was in addition to missing 15 games as a sophomore. His injuries were all over the map too and included a dislocated elbow, back injury, and a broken ankle.

The good news for him is that he finally made it through a full season in 2019. Eifert, who was a free agent last year as well, signed a one-year contract with Cincy and his bet on himself paid off. He played all 16 games for the first time in his career and despite being on an offensively deficient team, he played well gaining 436 yards and scoring three touchdowns.

For the Browns, he would be an interesting add. His experience in the league would be something that Kevin Stefanski would love. He also could be had for an affordable deal considering his injury history — and it wouldn’t be shocking to see him have fewer suitors than Ebron due to that.

In the end, this could be a low-risk, high-reward type of move for a team that could stand to add more pass-catchers around their two superstar receivers.
