1. Otto Graham, quarterback

Quarterback Otto Graham was technically a free agent signing for the Browns, but not a typical one. He signed to play for the Browns when they were in the All-American Football Conference (AAFC). The Browns then moved to the NFL with Otto Graham at quarterback.

For this scenario, he counts as a true free agent acquisition, and Otto Graham is certainly the top free agent add for the Cleveland Browns. He is widely considered one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the league.

Graham had a very decorated career with five Pro Bowls, seven All-Pro’s, three NFL Championships, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1965. He played his entire career with Cleveland from 1946 to 1955.

When you bring the Browns three championships and have a Hall of Fame career, it is hard to be topped. He is certainly a legend of Cleveland.

Next. 5 free agents the Browns should target. dark

The Browns have a decent list of best free agent signings throughout their history, but hopefully can improve that in the near future. The Browns need to have more star power on this list. There have been good players, but hopefully in the future there will be a very strong list of incredible Cleveland Browns.
