Cleveland Browns trade back and load up in 7-round mock draft
By Randy Gurzi
The Cleveland Browns traded back often when Andrew Berry was with them in the past and they do it again while loading up in this 7-round mock draft
Andrew Berry first joined the Cleveland Browns in 2016, which was a season to forget. That was, of course, the year the team went 0-16, becoming just the second NFL franchise to ever lose all 16 games — joining the 2008 Detroit Lions.
As frustrating as that was for fans to suffer through, the front office that Berry worked alongside of — which included the infamous Sashi Brown — was pretty honest that they were tearing things down and rebuilding. And their plans for that rebuild centered on adding a whole lot of draft picks as they were constantly trading down and acquiring more draft day stock.
That regime never really got to see it all through as Brown was gone in 2017 and John Dorsey was hired as general manager and given a ton of picks to build with. Berry stayed for one more season working with Dorsey in his vice president of player personnel role but they moved to The City of Brotherly Love where he became the Philadelphia Eagles vice president of football operations.
Now, Berry takes over for Dorsey and it’s fair to assume he will operate more like Brown did in that he will want to move down to acquire as many assets as possible. And for the Browns, they can use that as they have some good talent but have several holes to fill in order to become a legit contender.
With all that being said, we do our best now to predict what will happen for Berry and the Browns when the 2020 NFL Draft takes place in this trade-enabled 7-round mock draft.
