player. Round 5. WR. Pick 162. JoeReed. 888. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Cleveland Browns didn’t have a fifth-round pick coming into the draft but after making their trade with the Seattle Seahawks to kick off our mock draft they end up with one. And with that pick, they’re able to add a player who will help them in more ways than one.

In 2019, the Browns had two wide receivers top the 1,000-yard mark with Odell Beckham, Jr. and Jarvis Landry each hitting the landmark. However, beyond that, there was next to nothing from the wideouts. Heading into 2020, they need to change that.

With that in the back of their minds, they end up using this pick on Joe Reeds out of Virginia. Reed really helped himself out at the NFL Combine by posting a 4.47 in the 40-yard dash while also showing off his athleticism in the vertical leap and broad jump. Put those skills next to his 6-foot-0, 224-pound frame and the Browns find themselves an intriguing prospect.

As for the other way he can help the Browns, Reed was a good return man for the Cavaliers. During his four-year career with Virginia, he had 3,042 yards on kick returns and scored five times. Cleveland has been dreadful in the return game in recent seasons and adding a player with Reed’s game-breaking abilities would be a welcome move.
