The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including Andrew Berry getting set for first test as general manager.

Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry has warmed up his new seat in the front office and is getting set for his first real test as Cleveland’s leader of the personnel department: the 2020 free agency market.

Berry will have several critical decisions to make, as he will be in charge of deciding if the Browns will be big spenders in free agency to address dire needs or if the team will end up watching targets signing big deals elsewhere.

After taking charge in late January, this will be the first time Browns fans get to see what type of general manager Berry will be. He may be the aggressive decision-maker modeled after Howie Roseman in Philadelphia. Or he could also be frugal with Cleveland’s cap space.

Free agency provides first real test for new Browns GM Andrew Berry: This Week in the Cleveland Browns – Ellis L. Williams, Cleveland.com

"The Browns need serious offensive line help. There are expensive but talented options in free agency at both tackle and guard. Berry needs to land at least one big prize this week, because the future of Mayfield and this current iteration of the Browns are dependent on it."

The Browns have several needs across the roster and could end up adding several new starters to the roster. Cleveland’s new regime may want to build through the draft, but there are currently too many big holes on the roster to address them solely in the draft.

Jack Conklin? Case Keenum? What to watch for as Browns hit free agency – Jake Trotter, ESPN

"A young core featuring several former high draft picks remains. And although Cleveland will have to hold back money to extend its stars still on rookie deals in the coming years, the Browns will enter free agency with close to $70 million in cap space to work with."

Cleveland’s front office may decide that they need to conserve the cap space this offseason considering the extensions they will need to negotiate in the near future. But with several free agents at positions of need, it may be too hard for the Browns to pass up.
