While the list of draft busts is lengthy for the Browns, the list of draft passes by the is also astounding and depressing.  Here is a look at the worst passes since 2010

While we all remember Johnny Manziel, Justin Gilbert and Brandon Weeden, but let’s not forget all the talent that has blown right in front of the organization’s eyes. Obviously scouting talent is not as simple as it looks, so it’s not just the Cleveland Browns have struggled with drafting. Remember, hindsight is always 20/20.

However, there is a clear trend in the NFL, and it isn’t that the team who spends the most money on one player wins. Ask the Minnesota Vikings. While Kirk Cousins has been successful and took them to a division championship (should he be given credit for that play?), you’ve never once thought the Vikings were the Super Bowl favorites since they shelled out $84 million of guaranteed money to the quarterback.

I, like many other fans, have gone into many seasons thinking this is the year. Time and time again I leave the season disappointed and left with even more questions. 2019 was likely the most disappointing season for fans since the return of the Browns in 1999.

The season started with fans expecting big things from Baker Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr, and Nick Chubb. It felt like the Browns pass rush would also be unstoppable with Myles Garrett and the addition of Olivier Vernon. It appeared the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers were on the way down and it was time for Cleveland to take charge of the AFC North.

What really happened? The Steelers won without Big Ben, Lamar Jackson appears to be a force to be reckoned with and Baker took a few steps back.

Let’s hope Andrew Berry is ready to change the culture in Cleveland which is “damaged” at best, but before that let’s look at some of the worst Cleveland Brown’s draft passes in the last decade.
