Anthony Harris – Safety, Minnesota Vikings

While the Minnesota Vikings made this move tougher by applying the franchise tag to Anthony Harris on Monday, rumblings around the NFL are the Vikings would be willing to trade Harris. Speculation would be the Vikings would have received a third-round compensatory pick in 2021 if they let Harris walk. Is getting a third in 2020 enough to lure the rising star away?

More from Dawg Pound Daily

Reports around the league believe the Vikings maybe after a second-round pick to swoop the safety out of Minnesota. Is that too much? Remember, the Browns will also have to offer Harris a large extension in the $11-13 million per year range.

Given the safety market currently, this seems like a no brainer.  There is a slim chance you draft a safety of Harris’s caliber in the second or third round of the draft this year. You must win now with Mayfield and Myles Garret on Rookie deals.

Von Bell – Safety, New Orleans Saints

With Malcolm Jenkins expected to sign with the New Orleans Saints, Von Bell now looks to be on the move after reportedly wanting to stay with his prior employer. Bell who is a well know run supporting safety has struggled previously in pass defense.

Bell paired with Harris could be dynamite, with Harris the ball-hawk and Bell the in the box safety.  The 25-year-old will be coming off his rookie contract and could be looking to get paid.  Over the cap predicts Bell’s market in the $3-4 million per year rang but Bell could demand more given the lack of supply in the safety market currently. It may be unlikely, but certainly could be a great fit in Cleveland.
