As the Cleveland Browns keep adding weapons to its offense, should they consider trading running back Kareem Hunt?

The Cleveland Browns are in the midst of an excellent offseason so far.

Adding another big-time weapon in tight end Austin Hooper for quarterback Baker Mayfield to throw to should be exciting to watch unfold next season.

But with offensive weapons all around and a terrific running back in Nick Chubb already on the roster, should the Browns consider trading Kareem Hunt for possibly a second-round pick?

The Browns could have a line of suitors for his services so a second-round pick could very well be in play as compensation. And with Kareem Hunt in a walk year in his contract, this seems like a no-brainer for Cleveland to consider.

The two most logical spots for Hunt both reside in the NFC so hopefully, he doesn’t come back to haunt the Browns. Tampa Bay looks to be going all-in with the signing of quarterback Tom Brady. Giving Brady a weapon out of the backfield like Hunt would make a lot of sense for them.

The other possible landing spot would be the LA Rams after they released running back Todd Gurley yesterday. Even though the Rams are going through a roster re-shuffle right now they still are playoff contenders as Hunt’s small contract would probably allow for this sort of trade to happen.

As for Cleveland’s side of things, getting back a second-round pick for taking a flyer on Hunt last offseason would be a major score. It’s essentially getting a free second-round pick for having to put up with him for one season.

On the field, he was productive in his role for the final six games, and the talent is still there with him. But off the field is another story as he continues to have some problems. But getting back to being a starting running back should hopefully motivate him to stay clean and out of trouble.

Let’s make this happen Browns. Get another high draft pick and build this thing the right way. Hunt is not in their future plans so its best to cut bait with him while you can still get solid compensation.
