I’ve been pretty adamant about who the top two offensive tackles on my board are. Those are Andrew Thomas from Georgia and Jedrick Wills Jr from Alabama. In previous mock drafts I have put Jedrick Wills Jr in this spot, but not anymore. The Browns have locked up their right tackle position with a great player in Jack Conklin and should be turning their eyes towards Andrew Thomas.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

Wills Jr could make the switch over, but it isn’t necessary to risk that when a player just as good and is a better scheme fit is sitting here available for you at left tackle.

Andrew Thomas has the best technique out of any tackle in this draft. While he may not have the same ceiling as guys like Mehki Becton and Tristan Wirfs, he has the highest floor of anybody in the draft. I can’t see Thomas not being a good starting offensive lineman throughout his career.

Thomas would be a day one starter for the majority of teams in the NFL at left tackle and is going to become a fan favorite for whichever team decides to draft him. There aren’t many offensive tackles who come out of the draft and can even think about filling Joe Thomas‘ shoes, but Andrew Thomas is up there. There are no holes in his game, like some of the other offensive tackle prospects have.

While he may not be a monster of a human being, he is still 6-foot-5 and a solid 315-pounds, and has 36 and one-eighth inch arms, making him the ideal offensive tackle size. Arm length is key for offensive tackles, and he has the longest arms of any of the top prospects.

If the Browns want to keep Baker Mayfield protected in 2020, their best bet is to draft Andrew Thomas. Calling my shot here, Andrew Thomas will have the best rookie year of any offensive tackle in this draft.
