Tyrie Cleveland, Florida

Tyrie Cleveland screams “analytical pick.” He lands in the top-10 for his SPARQ score, one ahead of another receiver previously mentioned (Virginia’s Joe Reed). Cleveland ranked inside the top-10 in the vertical and broad jumps, while also looking decent in drills at the combine.

His appeal will come mostly from his value as a speedster who can take the top off a defense with go routes and skinny posts. Outside of that, Cleveland projects to be a major work in progress. He’ll need to work on diversifying his routes because as things stand, he would be an easy opponent to plan for.

He is another prospect who has a solid ability to work outside his frame, which helps when he’s running straight-line over the top. With where he is projected to go in the draft, Cleveland may need to earn his keep on special teams before getting on the field as a receiver. Fortunately for him, he has a ton of experience there and showed a real willingness as a gunner.

The former Gator will come with a major red flag on his resume, however. During his freshman year, Cleveland and another teammate were charged with multiple felonies and property damage on campus. Since then, there hasn’t been trouble, so it could simply be a blip on the radar. That incident may give some teams pause, though.
