The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the news you need to know, including one article asking if the Cleveland Browns should target Jadeveon Clowney

The Cleveland Browns have suddenly become the destination for free agents. This offseason, general manager Andrew Berry has signed tight end Austin Hooper, offensive tackle Jack Conklin, and several defensive starters as well to include safeties Karl Joseph and Andrew Sendejo.

Now, one writer asks if they should go for another home run signing by targeting defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. A former No. 1 overall pick, Clowney remains a free agent after recording 31 tackles and three sacks with the Seattle Seahawks.

That was a down season for him after recording 9.5 sacks in 2017 and nine in 2018 with the Houston Texans. Adding him would give the Browns an unreal pass rush, even if Clowney’s numbers weren’t popping off the page in 2019.

Should The Cleveland Browns Sign Jadeveon Clowney? — Shawn Stevenson, SI.com

"“The Cleveland Browns are looking to improve their defense this offseason and an area needing a major upgrade is defensive end. Given the current free agent market, a name that Andrew Berry should consider bringing in is former number one overall pick Jadeveon Clowney.”"

The market for Clowney never materialized, which was partly his doing. Clowney wants to be paid like one of the elite defensive ends in the game but he hasn’t proven he can be that consistently. Joining the Browns would be huge for him as it would take pressure off of him with Myles Garrett on the opposite side. However, he likely lands back with Seattle on a one-year deal to try and hit the market again in 2021.

Albert Breer: I like what the Browns have done, identifiable plan behind the moves; NFL GMs, coaches upset about the current draft timeline — Bull & Fox, 92.3 The Fan

"“Albert Breer of The MMQB joined Bull & Fox to talk about the quarterback market this NFL offseason, Tom Brady’s motivation going into this season after leaving New England, the Browns’ signings in free agency and the latest on whether the NFL Draft will remain April 23-25. “"

It’s hard not to like the moves Andrew Berry has made. He’s filled several holes and set the team up nicely for the upcoming draft.

We’ve crowned the Browns free agency champs before. This time, things look different with Kevin Stefanski. — Terez Paylor, Yahoo Sports

"“While Cleveland fans have a well-deserved tendency to expect the worst, it’s hard not to be optimistic about the level of competency the Browns have displayed thus far in free agency.”"

The Browns have done well in free agency before, but things never worked out. The reason has often been coaching, so Kevin Stefanski seems to be the key piece here. If he’s the right guy, this winning offseason could actually mean something.
