No. 1: LB Davion Taylor, Colorado

Davion Taylor of Colorado would be an athletic freak late-round draft pick for the linebacker position. Taylor registered an impressive 4.49 40-yard dash time at NFL Combine and he plays fast on the field as well. And while he is a bit small for an NFL linebacker, his athleticism and productivity more than make up for it.

He is also an incredibly instinctive player that shows up big in nearly every game. That was the part of his play that caught the attention of Yahoo Sports Eric Edholm.

Taylor was projected to be a sixth-round selection in Matt Miller’s recent Bleacher Report mock draft. Taylor finished his Colorado career with 129 total tackles and 18 tackles for a loss during two seasons in Boulder after transferring in from junior college in 2018.

But not only was Taylor an excellent football player while at Colorado, but he also was a member of the track team and finished sixth in the 100 meters at the Pac-12 Outdoor Championships. With rare linebacker type speed and explosiveness, Taylor would be an excellent late-round flyer for the Browns to take a chance on.

None of these players will straight up replace the production they had from their departing veterans but they can help the defense take a step forward in 2020.
